Making last-minute pivots in farming isn't too easy. "We only have so much control over their rate of growth," one farmer says.

"I guess, thanks in large part to COVID, we had a lot of people looking for outdoor picking and being outside at farms," says Red Apple Farm owner Al Rose.

Iowa corn and soybean farmer April Hemmes says that for many farmers, "it's like they lost their job and their house all in one day."

Soon the Schwagerls of Browns Valley, Minnesota, will need "all hands on deck." But they are facing fall with without child care or school.

Critics say the herbicide dicamba cannot keep its agricultural social distance.

Flower farmers are hurting as events like weddings are canceled during the global pandemic.

"We're doing everything we can to continue the critical activities that we need to do,with a lot of added precautions for the sake of our employees," said Patrick Smith of Loftus Ranches in Washington.
