Tommy Andres is the former senior special projects producer for Marketplace. He ran major projects and launched new series. He oversaw “Divided Decade,” a yearlong multiplatform examination of how the financial crisis changed America. He also created “I've Always Wondered,” “The Transaction” and “Brought to You by.”

What was your first job?

A ball boy for the Detroit Pistons.

What’s your most memorable Marketplace moment?

I produced Kai's interview with Charles Koch and had Kai ask Mr. Koch about his Darth Vader-like reputation. The day of the broadcast, Mr. Koch tweeted out a picture of himself sitting at his desk in a Darth Vader costume.

What’s the favorite item in your workspace and why?

The vintage TV I turned into a fish tank.
