Obama 2012 is all about Facebook: Chapter 2

The other day we brought you word that the Obama reelection campaign site was heavily tied to Facebook, with an app that lets you say “I’m In” on Facebook and then pressure friends to do the same. Like Farmville but with Obama instead of a farm. Obamaville.

Latest news is that Obama will hold a Facebook town meeting on April 20th. The event, which was naturally announced on Facebook, will also feature Mark Zuckerberg and it will be broadcast live on Facebook. This comes at a time when Facebook is beefing up its lobbying efforts in DC and trying to hire former White House spokesman Robert Gibbs.

If you’re a member of your local public radio station, we thank you — because your support helps those stations keep programs like Marketplace on the air.  But for Marketplace to continue to grow, we need additional investment from those who care most about what we do: superfans like you.

Your donation — as little as $5 — helps us create more content that matters to you and your community, and to reach more people where they are – whether that’s radio, podcasts or online.

When you contribute directly to Marketplace, you become a partner in that mission: someone who understands that when we all get smarter, everybody wins.
