Privacy and security questioned on Dropbox

Subscribe to our Newsletters

Dropbox is a popular file storage site where you can put your stuff on the cloud and get it wherever you want. People love it. It seems you can encrypt the material you put up there but Dropbox employees are able to reverse that encryption and get access to your stuff. The company recently updated its terms of service agreement saying that it will open up your files if requested to do so by law enforcement agents. Soghoian had already filed a complaint with the FTC, however, charging that Dropbox was promising security but not delivering it.
