Oscar Parties 101
Oscars night is just around the corner. There’s approximately one more week to watch all the nominated films and place your bets in the office pool.
To help prepare you for the big night, “Dinner Party Download” co-host Brendan Francis Newnam joined the show to explain some of the do’s and don’ts of throwing a successful Oscars party.
One of the most important parts of a good Oscar party?
Lest you think that people should just be goofy and drunk, the “In Memoriam” section is the one part of the night where people need to be quiet and pay attention … at some point I guarantee it’ll induce goosebumps … you know that feeling when you hear Story Corps on public radio, and you start crying in the shower — oh, wait, is that just me? That feeling could happen, and even if it doesn’t happen for you, we need to be respectful.
