The mini-tablet/maxi-reader wars are heating up a little bit more. Barnes & Noble has announced a 8gb Nook Tablet. The big news about this is that at $199, it will be priced the same as Amazon’s Kindle Fire tablet.
How does it compare to the Nook Tablet that’s already on the market? Well, it’s worse. Half the memory of the older $249 model and only 50 bucks less. But again, this is all about stacking up against Amazon and you can expect B&N to make a big play that the Nook has an advantage in that you can take it into any bricks n’ mortar store for service even though I can’t imagine how they expect to keep those stores in business if everyone’s buying e-books. Oh well, none of my business, tra la la.
