Congress snubs IMF's request for resources

International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Christine Lagarde attends a press conference at the Foreign Press Center in Seoul on December 5, 2013. 

Funding for the IMF was left out of a trillion dollar compromise to fund the federal government for the next eight months. Negotiations are continuing, but when domestic programs are on the line, funding for international programs is harder to justify.
