Here’s some free career advice for congressional staffers: don’t tweet about how you’re drinking at work and don’t make fun of your boss on Twitter. That seems like common sense advice, right? I mean, why would that even come up? Surely, no one that stupid would ever get hired to work in a member of Congress’s office, right? Au contraire. Three staffers from Rep. Rick Larsen’s  (D-Wash.) office were fired yesterday, about an hour after a story about their tweeting was noticed.

Over several months, according to online messages allegedly made by staffers with Democratic Congressman Rick Larsen, the D.C. office of Washington State’s 2nd District has been the setting of a staffers-gone-wild bash, a binge of embarrassing behavior including insults lobbed by legislative aides at the Congressman himself and accounts of on-the-job drinking, all broadcast for the world to see on via Twitter.
