This final note on the way out, which is, I believe, this week's sign the apocalypse is upon us.

In the pages of AdAge today I read this: That Americans are becoming too lazy to microwave their own popcorn. While microwave is still the industry leader, the pre-popped sector is growing by double digits.

But this, my friends, this is the true omen: The guy who runs the PopSecret brand of microwave popcorn is working on an app that will listen to your bag popping away and algorithmically tell you exactly when to take it out of the microwave.
