Japan on the cheap

Marc Sanchez Oct 12, 2011

Six months have passed since the earthquakes that did so much damage in Japan, and the Japanese tourism agency is thinking of ways to get the word out that the country is a safe place to visit. One idea: give away 10,000 roundtrip plane tickets to people who talk up Japan on social media outlets. A tweet for a ticket, perhaps. Room and board not included, and you’ll have to document the trip through your preferred social outlet, but still.

We’re here to help you navigate this changed world and economy.

Our mission at Marketplace is to raise the economic intelligence of the country. It’s a tough task, but it’s never been more important.

In the past year, we’ve seen record unemployment, stimulus bills, and reddit users influencing the stock market. Marketplace helps you understand it all, will fact-based, approachable, and unbiased reporting.
