Windows 8 will have an app store

Leave it to Microsoft to find a great idea and then copy it two years later. The company we used to call REDMOND SOFTWARE GIANT back in Seattle launched a blog (a blog! Again with the being up to date!) to detail the development of the forthcoming operating system. In a post yesterday entitled “Introducing the team”, one of the groups listed was “App Store”. This has been rumored for a while, especially when Microsoft joined the scrap regarding Apple’s claim to the name “App Store”. Windows 8 is expected next year, probably in the fall. There is no confirmation as yet to the rumor that Microsoft employees working on the project all wear LeBron James Cleveland Cavaliers jerseys.

If you’re a member of your local public radio station, we thank you — because your support helps those stations keep programs like Marketplace on the air.  But for Marketplace to continue to grow, we need additional investment from those who care most about what we do: superfans like you.

Your donation — as little as $5 — helps us create more content that matters to you and your community, and to reach more people where they are – whether that’s radio, podcasts or online.

When you contribute directly to Marketplace, you become a partner in that mission: someone who understands that when we all get smarter, everybody wins.
