Nexus Prime and new Android OS delayed

Google and Samsung were supposed to launch the Nexus Prime phone on Tuesday, a day that Google was also expected to present the new operating system for Android, dubbed Ice Cream Sandwich. If I had told you that no one gets an ice cream sandwich on Tuesday, you would be more upset so I had to phrase it carefully.

From the Telegraph:

Google and Samsung had announced that they would reveal "what's new from Android" on 11 October, and sources inside the companies confirmed that the event would see the launch of at least one major new product, as well as a second rumoured tablet. It is now not know whether any announcements will be made by either company on Tuesday.
The release is set to be rescheduled, although a Samsung spokesman could not say when. A conference call between Google and Samsung last night had been expected to confirm the detailed running order and associated promotional activity; instead the firms cancelled the event, but no more details are currently available.

There is speculation that the postponement might have something to do with the death of Steve Jobs but no one is confirming that. Google and Samsung are also tied up in lots of litigation having to do with their phones and claims of copyright violations.

"If I had told you that no one gets an ice cream sandwich on Tuesday, you would be more upset so I had to phrase it carefully."

If you had phrased it carefully, it should have said, "Samsung and Google Unpacked event postponed".

Oct 11 is a launch event, not when it will be available to purchase. Much like the iPhone 4S was launched/announced earlier this week, it will be available to purchase at a later date.

Your heading is far more upsetting (for those that are waiting) than "No ice cream sandwich on Tuesday".

Android is so amazing. Apple, so irrelevant to me
