This final note today, which, notwithstanding the fact that the movie wasn’t supposed to be all that great, does kind just make you sad.
The Lorax has been stolen. Police in San Diego say somebody’s made off with a 300-pound, two-foot-tall bronze statue of the Dr. Seuss figure, from — and get this — the estate where Dr. Seuss’s 90-year-old widow still lives.
Police say they’re not sure if the theft is ’cause of the movie, or because there’s just a lot of valuable metal in a 300-pound bronze statue.
