In a speech today, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said there was little else he and the Fed can do to help the economy. The government, meanwhile, launched a new website today where the public can can oversee the work of federal agencies. The northeast U.S. is preparing for Hurricane Irene this weekend.

Citizens in China have been warned to expect power outages twice a week this summer due to the dwindling energy supply.
