A Lancaster, Pennsylvania newspaper is reporting that a lot of Amish kids are using Facebook (huh?) from their cellphones (what?). Yep. Cell phones have infiltrated Amish culture as a concession to the reality of navigating the world, a world where there is no electricity in the home even. The phones are often used communally. But older church members might not be aware that you can get on Facebook with these things and that’s what the young people are doing. The article also talks about how more and more Amish have email as well, either because they need it to communicate between their business and the outside world or they work for a non-Amish company that uses it.

Weird Al never had a cell phone.
