Atari not dead yet, feeling much better, thinks it will go for a walk

John Moe Jun 8, 2011

Atari was once king of video games. But then again Burt Reynolds was once the biggest movie star in the world. Nothing lasts forever. To everything there is a season. Turn turn turn. After many years of struggle and ownership changes, the company plans to make a Big Comeback in casual gaming. The Wall Street Journal reports that Atari has been selling some of its classic games as iOS apps for a while now and doing pretty well. It’s also marketing a joystick plus four buttons accessory that plugs into your phone and lets you play those classic games plus a few new ones. A joystick? Really? Yeah, I know. But don’t be mean to these guys, they’re important historical figures. Show some respect.
