New Miss America gets the crown with some online racism on the side

Miss America 2014 contestant Miss New York Nina Davuluri wins the 2014 Miss America Competition at Boardwalk Hall Arena on September 15, 2013 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Another Miss America was crowned this week. And Nina Davuluri, formerly Miss New York is Indian American. Her pageant platform was aimed to celebrate diversity and for the talent portion of the contest she did a Bollywood fusion dance. The win sparked a flurry of racist and intolerant tweets and social media posts. Jenny Korn, a researcher at the University of Illinois who studies race and gender online, joins Marketplace Tech host Ben Johnson to discuss.
