People aren't just using apps to find a date, they're using them when they're in relationships, too.
Pixaby

Looking for a date or trying to avoid an ex? There’s an app for that. Trying to foster and maintain an already serious relationship? Yeah, there’s an app for that too.

Lizzie talks with Marketplace Tech’s Ben Johnson about how your smartphone can help you navigate love. Plus, Northwestern University Professor and clinical psychologist Alexandra Solomon, Professor at Northwestern University tells us about how tech has impacted relationships positively and negatively.

Apps for relationships

Couple: Lets you and your partner share messages, videos, and helpful for long-distance relationships.
Avocado: Keep all your shared pics, videos, and messages in one place. You can even “hug” your significant other by holding your phone to your chest. Gross.

Apps after a break-up

Cloak: An anti-social media app that uses location data to help you avoid friends, co-workers, and ex-partners
Rx Breakup: A 30-day guide that delivers professionally developed self-help techniques in the tone of a trusted girlfriend.
Facebook: Facebook also has added some tools that can help you navigate the ending of a relationship digitally.

Your donation — as little as $5 — helps us create more content that matters to you and your community, and to reach more people where they are – whether that’s radio, podcasts or online.

When you contribute directly to Marketplace, you become a partner in that mission: someone who understands that when we all get smarter, everybody wins.
