Stocks continue to drop overseas this morning, but so-called ‘safe haven’ commodities — like gold and silver — that usually rise in uncertain times are dropping too. In fact, many metals are on track for their worst week in months. The group of the world’s 20 biggest economies — the G20 — today pledged to make sure the European debt crisis doesn’t undermine the global economy. Many believe Solyndra doesn’t spell the end for the solar industry, and the last bullfight ever in Barcelona happens this weekend.

And here are the songs we played today:

  • The Fun Powder Plot – Wild BeastsBuy
  • The Afterlife (instrumental) – YACHTBuy
  • Mouves (Keep Shelly In Athens Remix) – TropicsBuy
  • The Way You Wish You Could Live In The Storm – Moonface
  • Unfair Kind of Fame – The PastelsBuy

We’re here to help you navigate this changed world and economy.

Our mission at Marketplace is to raise the economic intelligence of the country. It’s a tough task, but it’s never been more important.

In the past year, we’ve seen record unemployment, stimulus bills, and reddit users influencing the stock market. Marketplace helps you understand it all, will fact-based, approachable, and unbiased reporting.
