Gestation cut from nine months to two minutes

Marc Sanchez Sep 22, 2011
Share Now on:

And by gestations, I’m talking about the kind of fake gestation you get when you try on a Mommy Tummy. Mom-Tum, as I’ll call it from now on, is kind of like those pregnancy bellies an actor might have to wear for a movie. The difference with this one is that it grows… and moves… and kicks. It even simulates the warmth of a fetus. The researchers at Japan’s Kanagawa Institute of Technology, who designed Mom-Tum, wanted to let people (men and women) get a test run at what being pregnant might feel like. For men who want a more full experience of what it’s like to be with child, Mom-Tum can track the vitals of your real bun in the oven, so when mom feels a kick, dad does too.
