We're addicts. This according to a new survey from security company Webroot. They polled nearly 4000 people and found that scams targeting social networking sites are on the rise, particularly the notorious Koobface worm that goes after Facebook users. But we're also getting more aware that security is something we need to manage: Between 2009 and 2011, Webroot says, the number of US social network users who have never viewed or changed their privacy settings plummeted from 37 percent in 2009 to 8 percent in 2011. In the United Kingdom, the percentage dropped from 31 percent in 2009 to 9 percent in 2011.

Also in the report, 54 percent of respondents said they feel some level of addiction to their favorite social networking site and check it either several times a day or constantly.

Added Mark Zuckerberg, "Mbwa-ha-ha-ha-ha-HA!"
