Personal rental car service goes live

John Moe May 25, 2011

is a new online service that lets you rent out your car by the hour or by the day. It works through a website or through an app for iPhone. You shop for what kind of car you want and you can see what’s available, when it’s available, and how much it costs. If you’re renting out your car, you can either give the keys to the renter when they show up or use a new key kit where the renter opens your door using an app (How? I don’t know) and then they find the key inside. The renter is covered by their own insurance so the car owner isn’t at risk if the renter wrecks the thing.

There’s a lot happening in the world.  Through it all, Marketplace is here for you.

You rely on Marketplace to break down the world’s events and tell you how it affects you in a fact-based, approachable way. We rely on your financial support to keep making that possible.

Your donation today powers the independent journalism that you rely on. For just $5/month, you can help sustain Marketplace so we can keep reporting on the things that matter to you.

This is NOT a paywall.

Marketplace is community-funded public service journalism. Give in any amount that works for you – what matters is that you give today.
