Big Face (new nickname, like it?) was down for about half an hour yesterday, shutting out all users and silencing 30 minutes of valuable poking time. The reason apparently was the accidental public launching of some new feature that were still in prototype stage, including redesigned brand pages and a new photo functionality called Memories. When those started to go live, Facebook shut down the whole operation, which seems kind of drastic but that’s what they did. Wired has a pretty funny rundown where they try to get a straight answer out of Big Face as to why they had to shut it all down.
