NEWS FLASH: People spend a lot of time dinking around on the internet and not accomplishing much.
According to Nielsen, a third of our time online is spent with social media, blogs, and games. The figure is up from 25% of our time a year ago. Meanwhile, time spent on portal sites like Yahoo is decreasing. So we’re playing more Farmville and possibly discovering less of the internet than you might think (using search takes up only two minutes of every hour, social media and games take up twenty). All that investment being made in Zynga, creators of the game Farmville, seems like money well spent.
