30 months in jail for DDoS attacks on conservative websites

Mitchell L. Frost of Bellevue, Ohio is a 23-year-old former student at the University of Akron and he's going to jail for two and a half years in part for internet attacks on conservative websites. Frost flooded websites linked to Bill O'Reilly, Ann Coulter, and Rudy Giuliani with traffic in a series of directed denial of service (DDoS) attacks designed to overload servers and shut the site down. It's probably the easiest and most common ways of attacking a site. Frost also attacked the University of Akron site and mined data there to be used in later attacks.

Frost was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $40,000 to Bill O'Reilly.com and $10,000 to the University of Akron, as well as a special assessment of $200 to the Crime Victims' Fund.

Why is it so much different to attack conservative web sites when the same thing happens to a liberal web site nothing happens. Of course most of the liberals don't have a huge fortune at stake!
