World Food Prize goes to Monsanto executive

This final note today, which, depending on your point of view, is either this week's sign the apocalypse is upon us or another milepost in the inevitable march of science.

The World Food Prize -- a $250,000 award for "improving the quality, quantity and availability of food," and that is highly regarded in the appropriate circles -- will be shared by the chief technology officer at...Monsanto. "For his work in developing and improving genetically modified crops," said the president of the World Food Prize Foundation today.
