Boeing 787 Dreamliner returns to the skies

A LOT Polish Airlines Boeing 787 Dreamliner prepares for landing after a certification flight April 5, 2013 at Paine Field in Everett, Wa.

Say what you will about United Airlines CEO Jeff Smisek and his counterpart at Boeing, Jim McNerney -- they put their money where their mouths are.

United brought Boeing's troubled 787 Dreamliner back into service today. United Flight 1, from Houston to Chicago. No battery fires to report. The thing even landed 15 minutes early.

Best part? Smisek and McNerney even sat back in coach.
