Why Trump's tariffs on newsprint were overturned

The U.S. International Trade Commission finds itself in more of the spotlight now that the White House is taking a bigger role in tariffs.

In January of 2017 the the U.S. Commerce Department imposed tariffs as much as 32 percent on Canadian newsprint causing paper prices to wildly skyrocket. The new prices may harm newspapers, already operating on razor thin margins, across the United States.
