No new Xbox announced this year

John Moe Mar 19, 2012

If you’ve been holding your breath waiting for a new Xbox to be released or even announced this year, well, we have bad news for your lungs’ desperate craving for oxygen because it ain’t gonna happen. Don’t worry, you’ll pass out by August and then involuntarily begin breathing again. Microsoft says that it’s focusing on the Xbox 360 for the foreseeable future and won’t even be talking about a new console at the impending E3 conference later this spring in Los Angeles. Given the success of the Kinect motion-sensor attachment, there’s no real reason Microsoft has to bring out a new console any time soon anyway and given the glacial pace at which the company moves relative to other tech companies, this does not surprise.
