The (iTunes) Match is lit

Marketplace Staff Nov 15, 2011

Just in time for tomorrow’s Google Music announcement, iTunes flipped the switch yesterday on its much ballyhooed (and a little delayed) matching service. To recap: for $25 a year, iTunes Match will store up to 25,000 songs from your collection on their servers for you. If you have mislabeled songs or songs with no information about them (like those downloaded illegally from torrent sites), the service will give you legal versions. Once the songs are on the servers, you can download them to other devices and computers of your choosing.

There’s a lot happening in the world.  Through it all, Marketplace is here for you.

You rely on Marketplace to break down the world’s events and tell you how it affects you in a fact-based, approachable way. We rely on your financial support to keep making that possible.

Your donation today powers the independent journalism that you rely on. For just $5/month, you can help sustain Marketplace so we can keep reporting on the things that matter to you.
