MC Hammer has a search engine

John Moe Oct 20, 2011

The preceding headline was brought to you by the Headlines I Never Thought I’d Write Foundation.

Hammer made an appearance at the Web 2.0 Summit to talk about something called WireDoo that he’s involved with.

The Grey Lady says it is:

a search engine that adds relationship information to search results. For example, if someone searches for the word “car” on WireDoo, they will see results for topics related to a car, including insurance, pricing and consumer safety ratings. Searching a stock symbol will show related investors and mutual funds.

Or if someone searches on MC Hammer, they might see results on Hammer pants, bankruptcy, the level of legitimacy one must surpass after which quitting is no longer an option. They might also find a number of web startups that Hammer has been involved with, including the site DanceJam.com. He appeared on Oprah not long ago and talked about his web consulting business. They showed him touring the headquarters of iPad social magazine company FlipBoard and giving everyone advice, although in the video all the employees look like they’re wondering what MC Hammer is doing walking by their cubicles.

WireDoo is not yet public, however, so at the moment U can’t touch it.
