Google Earth Builder

John Moe Apr 21, 2011

Yesterday we told you about Google Map Builder, a way for regular folk to augment the maps found on Google Maps with details about their neighborhoods, new paths, new buildings, etc. Now comes Google Earth Builder, a similar approach for the more comprehensive Google Earth program. Earth Builder is designed for government agencies and large organizations to build data into their own editions of Google Earth. So if you’re a NGO, you can pack in population density, economic information, transportation stats, or any kind of data that you think is important. So then you can zoom in on a particular region and get much more than just how it looks.

There’s a lot happening in the world.  Through it all, Marketplace is here for you.

You rely on Marketplace to break down the world’s events and tell you how it affects you in a fact-based, approachable way. We rely on your financial support to keep making that possible.

Your donation today powers the independent journalism that you rely on. For just $5/month, you can help sustain Marketplace so we can keep reporting on the things that matter to you.
