Today’s biggest topic is Obama’s agreement with Republicans over tax extension. Many were quick to call these agreements a stimulus, but as Julia Coronado points out, these are really just a delay of tax hikes. Today Congress will vote estate tax and government grants for green energy.

After 151 years, grocery chain A&P has filed for bankruptcy. The company blames warehouse stores and mounting lease-debt for their losses.

National Economic Council Director Larry Summers is stepping down soon, and some believe it’s President Obama’s chance to mend his relationship with the business community.

Gift registries for weddings are the norm, but what about registries for children? It’s not always easy to know what to get a two-year-old. But is a registry necessary? Or maybe even rude?

Inflation numbers for China reached a 28-month high in November. Food prices and the cost of home utilities are at risk.

Will Twitter build a new nest in London? The social networking site Twitter is reportedly planning to set up its first European headquarters in London.
