News In Brief

Is that game worth watching?

Kai Ryssdal Oct 7, 2010

This final note today. A true story: I was on my way home last night, listening to my public radio station, when the local All Things Considered host gave the score of the Phillies-Reds playoff game. No spoiler alert… no nothing. Saved me three hours of watching the game on TiVo, I s’pose.

But today, a possible solution. A new service that lets fans know when a game is worth watching. Thuuz tracks games in real time — how close the score is, what the pacing’s like, good individual plays. Then it alerts you by email or text when a game is getting really hot. Best of all? It won’t tell you the final score.
