TEXT OF STORY

Scott Jagow: Finally, a personal note. Today is my last day hosting the Morning Report. But I won't be going far. I'll be taking on a new role at Marketplace, as the lead blogger for our Web site. And I'll be hosting our weekly podcast, After the Bell. In both roles, I'll be sharing perspectives on the economy and interacting with listeners.

I look forward to it and to working when the sun is out. I've thoroughly enjoyed the last three and a half years. And I hope you'll join me in the online world at marketplace.org.

In Los Angeles, I'm Scott Jagow. Thank you for listening, and I'll talk to you soon.

I'll miss your voice in the morning! Nobody talks Wall Street and money like you - clear, concise, and most importantly funny. Congrats on your new role and enjoy seeing the sun more.

I cannot start the day without a morning dosage of Marketplace. This is a painful parting. How will your loyal listeners weather the economic downtown without your humor and straightforward explanations? You have converted the unruly masses with little care for economic doublespeak into a better educated public. Anyway, thanks for the ride and job well done - you will be greatly missed.

Scott,

Thank you so much for keeping me company on my way to work for the past three years. Marketplace has become one of my favorite segments in the morning, mostly thanks to your wit and insightful comments. I will miss hearing your cheerful voice every morning, but I wish you so much luck in your new ventures!

When another well known public radio host departed under less pleasant circumstances a few years ago, Washington Post columnist David Broder sang his praises including lauding how much useful information that host could convey in so few words. Scott Jagow deserves the same praise.

Scott:

I am so very sorry to have heard you say "goodbye" to your daily reporting for Marketplace morning report and in the evening show as well. I got very used to and reliant on your insightful presentation and analysis of what is going on with our economy. I run a small commercial real estate service company and I am obsessive about reading industry and business news media in an effort to formulate a picture of what actually is going on. Your reporting was something that I looked forward to because it always made me feel like I was at least getting somethign told to me straight.

You will be very missed. Best wishes for your new role at Marketplace.

Warm regards,

Ken
