Sitting for hours a day can shorten your life

Marketplace Money's Tess Vigeland recently made the switch to a standing desk.

This final note today. The first and last you will hear on this program about the current rage of standing desks. They're catching on like wildfire here at Marketplace Global HQ.

And I get that they're better for you than sitting. But the study I saw today that even if you exercise regularly, sitting for three hours or more a day will take two years off your life? Really?

Just for the record, by the way, I do this radio program standing up.
