Port of Long Beach

Already the strike has idled thousands of trucks and trains that take containers from the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach to factories and distribution centers.

It's possible America's busiest ports may not stay busy. Southern California currently receives most of the imports shipped from Asia. But that could change with a major expansion of the Panama Canal.

Protesters around the country are working to reestablish the Occupy Wall Street movement. At the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, hundreds of demonstrators are trying to disrupt business.
