H is a graduate of Bard College where they studied agriculture and food systems and the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY where they studied health and science reporting and audio production. Before journalism school H spent four years making cheddar cheese in the heart of Manhattan. Their work has appeared in Bon Appétit, The Guardian, STAT News, Edible Manhattan, City Limits, Meat and Three from HRN, and the Embodied Podcast from WUNC.They’re an audio engineer at HRN and a former Content Integrity Fellow at Bon Appétit/Epicurious.
H is the 2023 recipient of the Excellence in Food Reporting Award from NLGJA, a 2023 Lambda Literary Emerging LGBTQ+ Voices Fellow and a 2022 NLGJA CONNECT Fellow.
