France and Germany announced a plan on letting Greece go through a structured default. The median household income in the U.S. has dropped. We heard how how small towns manage to cope with the loss of a major local company. Attitudes about the environment are changing. Commentator Justin Wolfers gave his thoughts on the merits of student loan forgiveness. Two Americans were rewarded the Nobel Prize for economics. Netflix announced the end of Qwikster, even before it launched. And we heard about the latest on Occupy Wall Street. Here are the songs we played:

  • Myriad Harbor – New PornographersBuy
  • Blue Night – DJ/rupture
  • When You Love Somebody – The Parson Red HeadsBuy
  • Mercury – The One AM RadioBuy
  • Something Came Over Me – Wild FlagBuy

Your donation — as little as $5 — helps us create more content that matters to you and your community, and to reach more people where they are – whether that’s radio, podcasts or online.

When you contribute directly to Marketplace, you become a partner in that mission: someone who understands that when we all get smarter, everybody wins.
