The government’s spending bill failed to pass last night, meaning plan B will have to be put into effect, and that comes at a price. Ireland is struggling still, as Moody’s downgrades its debt rating and makes it more difficult for the country to obtain loans. California takes the lead in the cap-and-trade carbon trading market. Yahoo announced that it will lay off 600 workers, but it may also need to get rid of its other web acquisitions as well to stay above water. And thanks to drug violence in Mexico, business leaders told the Mexican government through a full-page ad that the country needs to improve security before it loses more money.
