Marketplace Scratch Pad

Morning Reading

Scott Jagow Aug 26, 2009

You might remember a few months ago, I attended a forum on economic blogging at the Kauffman Foundation in Kansas City. Bloggers such as Tyler Cowen , Paul Kedrosky and Yves Smith gathered to talk about the recession and topics like “Is Journalism Dead?” Well, let’s roll tape. The video is out.

It’s good stuff. I have a little clip at about six minutes in.

Other things to peruse this morning:

Senator Kennedy’s legacy with health care (Marketplace Morning Report)

Nothing is free, certainly not in French health care (City Journal)

Failed banks, by the numbers (DealBook) The FDIC meets today and is probably running out of money.

Ben Bernanke’s reappointment — good idea or bad? (PBS NewsHour)
