Future Tense becomes Marketplace Tech Report

Hi everyone. John Moe here. Starting Monday, September 20th, Future Tense will be going by the name Marketplace Tech Report.

Producer Larissa Anderson and I have been working closely with the folks at Marketplace ever since we took over Future Tense in May. It's worked out great. We've helped them, they've helped us, and together we'll find more stories you'll want to hear. Basically, we loved Marketplace so much we married them. And kind of took their name too. Is it creepy to compare two radio shows to a married couple? Sorry about that.

As part of the Marketplace portfolio of programs (along with Marketplace, Marketplace Morning Report, and Marketplace Money), Marketplace Tech Report will keep bringing you stories that explain news and trends and technology and what it all means to you.

We'll be moving to a new simpler URL: MarketplaceTech.org, and we've got a new destination for the blog (you're reading this post so you must have found it). We'll be bringing our entire archive of past shows and blog posts with us but in the meantime, we're leaving our previous website up so you can access the show archives from there as well.

Hey, the link to the PodCast on the marketplace podcast page is wrong (points to Marketplace money). Might want to fix that!

I'm so sad to see such clever names like Future Tense and Speaking of Faith disappear from the podcast world. Marketplace Tech Report -- how boring!

That was my first thought as well! I'm not against the Marketplace marriage, but Marketplace Tech Report is a pretty dull title.

C, you are so right. Someone with a tin ear got to name the shows this year. Sad! Lame! Replete with inadequacies, as the tin ear might say!

I agree. "Marketplace Tech Report" sounds so ... corporate. Could the "tin ear" guy have been LESS creative?! I enjoy listening to Marketplace (the regular one), but this name change isn't exactly an example of inspired marketing. I KNOW folks in public radio are way more creative than that!

That said, at least the content is still good :) Keep up the good work, John and Larissa!

How about including Future Tense...err..Marketplace Tech Report in the daily Marketplace All-In-One podcast?
