From closed-down steel mills to the sprawling modern Cleveland Clinic, Ohio's economic past, present, and future is a window into the state of our nation. When it comes to all of the different indicators used to measure the country’s economic health, especially during the election year,  the unemployment rate is the Big Man on campus. Today, the Bureau of Labor Statistics is reporting that unemployment has fallen to 7.8 percent -- the lowest in almost four years -- with 114,000 jobs added last month.
