A look behind the scenes of the "Yellow Pages" of Made-In-USA gear

It’s no secret that the American-made apparel industry is shrinking. According to the American Apparel and Footwear Association, 97% of apparel, shoes, and accessories bought in the U.S. are imported, and tariffs are unlikely to provide the boost that some are hoping for. That means that finding the few brands that do still manufacture in the U.S. can be a challenge.

Good thing there’s a book for that. Alex Goulet and Willy DeConto wrote and published a project called “Crafted With Pride,” a directory for apparel, shoes, and more that are made in the USA. Their latest edition comes stocked with over 1,400 brands.

Their 2026 version is open for pre-order and will include even more American-made brands.

Goulet spoke with “Marketplace” about what went into creating this guide.
