“Once I really decided I wanted to go into medicine, it was because I wanted to educate young women about our bodies,” said Dr. La Toya Luces-Sampson, who is now a board-certified OB-GYN.

While medicine was her first calling, Luces-Sampson found others along her way. She became a traveling doctor, influencer and career coach, and eventually owner of an HVAC company, The General.

“When I tell this story, people are like, ‘wait, when did you go into HVAC?” said Luces-Sampson. “Because I had gone through so many career changes, when my husband, who is an HVAC contractor, wanted to start a business, it just made sense that I would do it with him.”
