Stefan Falke was born in Paderborn, Germany, in 1956. He lives in Brooklyn, N.Y., and photographs essays and portraits for magazines, and movie stills. His ongoing photography project is titled “La Frontera: Artists Along the US-Mexican Border.”  

 Falke speaks with Lizzie O’Leary about the border art scene and how you create a market in an often unstable environment.
