All this week Marketplace Tech is talking about the near future of tech — not artificial intelligence or storing consciousness on computer chips — but what’s coming in the next decade.

Today, we turn our attention to hardware with a look at Intel, the world’s largest semi-conductor chip maker. Earlier this week, the company named Brian Krzanich as its new CEO. As the world moves away from the personal computers that made Intel’s chips ubiquitous, and towards mobile devices, Intel’s fortunes have declined. Krzanich will have to broaden Intel’s reach into new products beyond semi-conductors.

But what will those products be? For a look at the future of Intel, Marketplace Tech host Ben Johnson speaks to Justin Rattner, chief technology officer at Intel, where the company develops new products. Rattner says consumers should soon expect things like wearable computing devices, and a new kind of LED headlight called “Seeing Through Rain.”
