Apple can’t sue Kodak, will continue effort to get blood from a stone

This is a Marketplace.org Reader

We told you about Apple’s attempt to sue the smoldering remains of the once great dynasty known as Kodak over alleged patent violations, despite the fact that Kodak is in bankruptcy and barely even exists. It’s a little bit like Eli Manning trying to defeat the deceased Jim Thorpe in a football skills contest. Now U.S. bankruptcy judge Allan Gropper has ruled that the suit is “an inappropriate way forward” because Kodak is in bankruptcy.

From Reuters:

The infringement claims center on a Kodak patent that lets consumers preview digital photographs on LCD screens.
Judge Gropper also denied Apple’s request to file a new patent infringement lawsuit against Kodak over printer and digital camera patents.
