One US automaker’s perspective

Chris Brown, an American automaker, shares what it's like to be losing the battle over production and manufacturing.

More about Chris Brown
Chris Brown is a machine operator at an autoparts plant owned by Delphi in Coopersville, Michigan. The plant may be shut down because operating costs are too high. In order to keep that from happening, unionized workers there face a severe wage cut from $27 an hour to as low as $10 an hour. Brown has worked at the plant for 21 years. Delphi was spun off from GM in 1999. The company filed for bankruptcy protection in October.
