Data centers are opening across the country, often in small, rural areas. They help you binge watch, back up your photos and let you collaborate on work. Quentin Hardy wrote about them in the New York Times. He explains that companies like Microsoft and Apple are spending big bucks on these facilities, but hardly any jobs are coming with the new developments. Hardy says it’s not all bad news — the green energy industry is getting a nice boost.
